Feel good and look great in your casual clothing. Madam to Sews alters everyday clothing and outerwear; tailoring and repairing them to look your best. Jeans, pants, dresses, sportswear or ﬂannels perfectly adjusted to … you!

Brand new or old favorites can be adjusted – “taken” in or out, up or down, to create the most ﬂattering fit and length for your style.

Schedule a 20-minute appointment by calling 860-936-4718. No appointment is needed if you’ve pinned a hem in place or know the inseam length. Bring the coordinating shoe style with you. Ladies…wear or bring the undergarments that you’ll wear with the alteration.

We offer in-shop, private fittings for men, women and kids.

Clothes must be clean, free of fragrances and pet hair, please.

Men and Boys

Shirt sleeves shortened (move cuff )
Other sleeves shortened
Taper tees
Take- in or let-out pants’ waist
Pants & shorts hems; shortened or lengthened where possible
Taper legs of pants & shorts
Jeans hems: regular hem or keep “original” hem
School uniform alterations

Women and Girls

Blouses, Tops, dresses:

Take up shoulders
Take up straps
Add contouring front or back darts
Change Sleeve length / style
Hem length
Shorten from Dress to Blouse length

Pants, Jeans, Shorts, Skirts:

Take in or out at waist
Add darts
Shorten/ lengthen
