Restyle or Revive

Madam to Sews loves turning Something Old into something New or Chic, Sentimental or Practical

We’ve been entrusted with wedding gowns, beloved jeans, flannel shirts and baby’s clothes…transforming them into as many incarnations as were imagined: for Christenings, slipcovers, softies, tote bags, quilts and Brides’ robes; whatever’s new on Pinterest!  It’s Madam to Sews’ special delight to translate your idea and design; using just the right touch, the appropriate techniques into your envisioned piece.  Thirty years of Dress-making, and a pinch of intuition, assures the perfect re-do!

Bring online images, drawings, photos, links – whatever inspires your vision – with your Something Old to the first consultation.  We discuss the opportunity your Piece presents and go from there.  Madam Sew can also offer ideas; we always get to the heart of the transformation.   Theres a short list of Befores and Afters below.

Revive outerwear and coats whose lining is shredded, ripped, sagging. Linings extend the life of a garment and help it to hold its style-lines, its shape. The lining may add some warmth; and always makes the coat slip on and off more easily. Madam to Sews replaces entire linings, sleeves, pockets on coats, leathers and outerwear. Replace lining with a traditional fabric or add a pop of color and excitement!

'Had a great experience here with Linda. She was able to fit me in for a hem on a bridesmaid dress with a tight time line and had a great return time on it. She was also very pleasant and had good customer service. Would definitely go back for any other alterations and would recommend to anyone.'
-Elizabeth S.
'Linda did a skillful job on three items that needed altering. They now fit perfectly. She is presently creating a sack for my granddaughter's sleeping bag. Linda is extremely professional and talented. She is a pleasure to work with. I'll be returning! '
