Madam to Sews tailor shop provides professional alterations for brides, women, men, teens and children. We tailor pants, outerwear, casual clothing and formal wear in a cheerful shop in Simsmore Square. Our first floor space has a private changing room and guest seating. Owner, Linda Behan Mompalao brings 30 years experience in professional dressmaking, alterations and sewing instructions in NYC to Simsbury community.

Before you come in...

Call for an appointment for anything that needs to be tried on in the Shop allow 15 minutes for casual clothes hems, 30 minutes for bridesmaid dresses.
Call for an appointment for a 30 minute consultation
Bring the type of shoe, sneaker, boot that you’ll wear with the item
Bring any Undergarments you’ll be wearing with the item: Shapewear, dress shirt, bra, leggings, etc.
All gown hems, alterations require an appointment
Garments must be clean

Learn to Sew

Learn to use your machine, read and follow print instructions, or advance your skills in a relaxed setting with Madam to Saws. Take up sewing again!

Bring your machine and favorite tools or use ours while you explore the creative joy of Sewing. The lesson is yours to create. One or two person lessons, one and two hour sessions while the Shop is “closed”. Call to discuss your sewing aspirations…have some fun!
